Claire Perry - Sports & Documentary Photographer

After studying in the areas of textiles and illustration, Claire's
great love of sport has resulted in her specialising in sports
photography, from both an editorial and documentary perspective.

"For me, sport it is one of those rarities: an event that unites people
from different backgrounds and creates a strong connection between
them, regardless of their culture, age, race or gender. This is true
whatever the quality of play".

Taking the focus away from the action on the pitch, her latest series
of work focuses on non-league football, showing that wealth and glamour
are not needed to play and enjoy football. The passion and love of
devoted fans is enough, even if the rain is pouring down and there are
only a handful of spectators, overcoming the basic facilities and often
poor watching conditions of small non-league clubs.

Claire often tries to include an element of humour in her work and has
also experimented with sound and moving image pieces to accompany her
photographs.
